Askoff James Askoff went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, February 5, 2014. He was born July 10, 1926 to the late Eli and Tema Askoff. Jim was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Pataskala, Ohio, where he served as an Elder and Deacon. Jim served in the U.S. Navy, WWII, and retired from DCSC. His great joy on earth included his wife of 63 years, DoraLee Askoff (Bowie); brother, Oscar Askoff (JoAnn); daughters, Barbara Mackris (Dale) and JoEllen Nesteruk; grandchildren, Michael Nesteruk (Tessa), Andrew Nesteruk (Marielle), Christine Nesteruk, Aaron Mackris (Stephanie), Amy Compton (Mike); great-grandsons, Samuel and Gabriel; many nieces and nephews including special niece, Susan Giles; special friend, Sarah Wolfe. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at KAUBER-SAMMONS FUNERAL HOME, 289 S. Main Street, Pataskala, Ohio between 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, February 9. As per his request, a Private Family Graveside service will be held later at the Pataskala Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made in Jim's memory to the Deacon's Fund, c/o Pataskala Presbyterian Church, 405 S. Main Street, Pataskala, OH 43062.
