Ross was an incredible man whose life made a difference for so many people and his legacy will definitely live on. He maintained the social consciousness and values so clearly represented in the 60's but which most baby boomers let go by the wayside once they earned money. In that way he was so pure and modeled by word and deed those important values for his boys. I will always remember him as an innocent, funny, enthusiastic law student falling in love with and marrying Betsy one of my dearest friends. He obviously retained his beliefs and passions until he died too soon. My heart goes out to his family, Peggy and his friends. Ross was one of a kind!

I worked with Ross for nearly three decades, and considered him a valuable friend as well as a very thoughtful person. He will be missed by many especially his family. Keep carrying the ball old friend.

All the ruggers will miss you, Ross. You have been an inspiration and a friend to me and all those for whom Saturday is a rugby day.

I spent a lot of time with public defenders as a small child in the 80s - my mom was one of them. I have such great memories of Ross. One that stands out the most is how special I felt when he left a party to bring me a milkshake (I was recovering from minor surgery) because I had never had one from Jaime's restaurant in Eugene. He took good care of every one around him - whether he knew them or not.
