Beck (Ward) Shelley Ward Beck, age 60, passed away on Friday January 31, 2014 after a courageous fight against an extended illness. She was born on June 9, 1953 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Richard and Virginia Ward. She was a graduate of The Ohio State University, where she was a proud Theta. During her career, Shelley was a Special Needs teacher. She is survived by her husband, Samuel J. Beck; sister, Jan (Bob) Chambers; nephews, Rick (Emma) Chambers, Jeffrey Dollinger and Sam (Valerie) Beck; nieces, Jennifer Chambers and Sarah Beck; great-nephew, Simon Dollinger; great-nieces, Nina and Stella Chambers; sister-in-law, Sue Beck; brother-in-law, Chuck (Mary) Beck. She is also preceded in death by her brother Rick Ward and niece Kristin Chambers. Arrangements have been entrusted to SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road in Upper Arlington. So sorry to hear of your loss. Shelley was my big sis in Kappa Alpha Theta at Ohio State. Although we did not stay in touch over the years, I wanted you to know that she was a lovely lady. I so hope your fond memories of her provide you with great comfort.

The Upper Arlington Class of 1971 is so sorry to hear of Shelley's passing. We all extend our sincere condolences to her husband and family. She will be honored and remembered in the future by all of us '71 UAHS graduates.

Sam, Jan and family - know that I am thinking of all of you as I remember so many times spent with Shelley as a Theta sister and roommate long ago. Shelley was one of a kind - and I'll treasure those memories!
