I had the pleasure of working and worshiping with Jake for 4 years while a student at New College, and was lucky enough to have him perform my wedding. I will always remember his patience, tolerance, guidance, and most importantly his 'awful'ly corny jokes. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

I was so sad to hear of Jake's passing last fall. I loved working with him at Ringling College in Liberal Arts and loved his daily stream of corny and funny jokes. He inspired so many - students, staff and faculty. When he retired, we were all very sad. All I can say is that I'm so glad to know that he's an angel now...he's always been one in my eyes, My sincere condolences to his family. xo

I had the privilege to work with Rev. Jake at Ringling College for many years. He loved all and fought to undo the injustices in the world. He certainly fought hard to leave this world a better place then he found it. He was much beloved and will be greatly missed.

I am sorry for your loss Chris. You always spoke very highly and fondly for your father at work. I remember feeling this secret admiration for his standing up for what was just. God bless you and your family.

I sorry to hear of Jake's passing, but will always delight in the wonderful memories I have of this wonderful person and personality. I'll always remember the jokes, the humor, the bike, the faith, the intelligence, the patience, the humanity. I learned so much from Jake, and it has been an honor to know and work with Jake at UCM and the IHS Singers at Kent State. May you all find peace in good the good memories of Jake.
