I, like many,
remember Dixie Carter as Julia Sugarbaker on Designing Women. From the first I was captivated by her style and class. I liked to believe that I was like Julia, and also aspired to be like her. After reading Ms Carter's "Trying to Get to Heaven" I was surprised to find that I wanted to be more like Dixie. I hope always to aspire to her style, her class, and her humanity. She will be missed, but always with us. DM

To Dixie’s Family,
Thank you very much for sharing your loved one with all of us her Fan’s. She was a truly gracious and talented woman that brought class and dignity to all of her acting roles. When a person has charisma and personality like she exuded its very difficult not to fall a little in love with them, remember always Dixie was loved.
I find much comfort and solace from the Bibles promise at John 5:28,29 and I hope it brings comfort to you also; Do not marvel at this because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, and those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment.
She will be missed…

No one had to ask "Dixie Who." We all knew. What a wonderful lady she was. I loved her as "Julia" and "Christy's Mom" in the Christy series. She could LIGHT up a room. She was a REAL lady, elegant and so SWEET and her voice was the "Singing of the Angels" as I'm sure GOD has her in HIS Heavenly Chorus. My BEST to Mr. Hal Holbrook who loved her very much and will miss her so much. We pray he will stay strong for Dixie's sake. There will not be another "DIXIE CARTER." She IS missed!

Remember

Remember me when I am gone away,
Gone far away into the silent land;
When you can no more hold me by the hand,
Nor I half turn to go yet turning stay.
Remember me when no more day by day
You tell me of our future that you plann'd:
Only remember me; you understand
It will be late to counsel then or pray.
Yet if you should forget me for a while
And afterwards remember, do not grieve:
For if the darkness and corruption leave
A vestige of the thoughts that once I had,
Better by far you should forget and smile
Than that you should remember and be sad.
