George was the very best of the best of brothers-in-law. We already miss him greatly--his teasing, his wisdom, his optimism, his unwavering loyalty resound in our hearts. We remain one in loving spirit with our sister Charlotte and family, Phil, Carl, Lidia and Anna.

Dear Charlotte,
Amidst the sadness of George's passing our burden is lightened thinking of all the contributions the two of you have made to this community, hence to all of us.
It has been a pleasure and a privilege for Jay and me to count you as dear friends all these years and I trust you will go on contributing in George's memory.

Dear Charlotte,
I will be at a conference in Dallas during George's memorial service at First Pres, so Tara will represent the MacDougalls, and personally express our deep sadness over George's death. But I want to let you know that I considered George one of the most important people in Murfreesboro, and that many cities would love to have one person like him. In addition to his wonderful personality and charm, George had the amazing ability to make advocacy and fundraising for an important cause seem like it was the most natural and enjoyable thing that anybody could do. With some encouragement, he was even able to get others to think and act the same way. Murfreesboro is a better city because of George, and his impact will both last and spread to other places. I wish that I could have thanked him for that.

Dear Charlotte,
I want to tell you how saddened I was to hear about George's death. He was a wonderful man who always shared optimism and humor every time I saw him. Those of us at MTSU who are in the voice area want to express our thanks for your and George's support and involvement over the years. Our hearts go out to you and your family at this time. I know that he will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
