My Love I am lighting this candle on this day 09/20/12 in memory of a moment we spent with you informing me of all that would come to be in my life after your passing. Each thing you said to me has come to be, but as you said it has only strengthen me. I Miss You. Your Loving Wife (Hjordis)

After all this time I still miss Dock, whose originality and free spirit made him a true icon. I'm trying to track down Donald Hall's great biography Dock Ellis: In the Country of Baseball. any help would be appreciated.

I'm glad to see that my father helped people through their hard times and kept them on the right path...

Rest in peace my old friend and teammate. Dock and I were the pitchers on the L.A. based Pittsburgh Pirate Rookie team coached by Chet Brewer before he embarked on his pro career. Nine players, including Dock of course, made it to the Major Leagues, what a team. I will always remember Dock's great smile and sense of humor, you were a great teammate and made the game so fun to be a part of. You have a special part in my book coming out soon about that 1963 Rookie team (Serious Heat). I attended your memorial service with another teammate from that team, Dennis Gilbert, it was an incredible service. Thank you for the great memories Dock.
