I am at a loss to describe Buck's passing and what that means to me and my family. He was a very great man. I would have "useful" conversations with him about the right things to do-taking care of tools, keeping rodents away from the house in the winter, leaving food and salt licks out for the deer, being able to take care of your own car and maintain it. And what was a really good thing to eat in the winter to keep you warm. But always with a smile and chuckle afterwards. He was family,a friend, father figure, and the go to guy with any question. So very lucky and happy to have had him in all our lives.
So sorry for your loss Mrs. Eckert, Deb, Wes, Mark and Carla. Your dad was a gentle giant. I have many fond memories of him. You are in my thoughts and prayers. RIP Mr. Eckert...
Buck, I will Miss your Smiling face you always had a Kind word for everyone. I'm honored to have known you and spend quality time with you... You will be Missed but Never Forgotten. You and Gordy and Sassy Bubba can all watch over us now!
Door County will not be the same without Buck. He is just always soposed to be there...butI know his spirt still is.
Goodbye Uncle Buck - I admired you so much over the years. You were a man's man - strong, capable and very handy. You were always kind to everyone and I was always amazed by your incredible energy and creativity.
I have so many fond memories of visiting most every summer as our family came to Wisconsin. You were larger than life to me. Fixing cars, supporting your sons in racing and catching big fish from your boat. I never saw you angry or even bothered. You were the strong, silent type that made things happen and got things done.
You raised a great family and lived a wonderfully productive life. I want my son and grandson to be like you. I am very certain that your legacy will stand as a man of honor, strength and courage. I can't begin to describe in words the amount of respect I hold for you as a real man.
Goodbye Uncle Buck - we love you and thank you for providing an example to us of kindness, caring and strength of character. You were an awesome man and I am proud to be part of your extended family.
What a great friend you were, we will miss you so much at our annual reunion. Your friends Gerry and Barb Burr
Buck was such a nice guy; he had a great sense of humor and always offered help to those who needed a hand. He was a good father-in-law, too. You will be missed, Buck ... God speed!
Pa I miss my hero so much. Thank you so much for giving me & Marcus a sign on the 3rd day. I needed that so badly. Please watch over Joanie & keep her safe until you're together again. Song sung blue, sleeping on my pillow.
