Johnny, Chris and Family,
I just learned today of your Father's passing. Andy sent me a text about his funeral! Cathy and I are so sorry for your loss. We regret that we were not there to attend. Sylvia was a wonderful man and friend. I truly cherished his friendship. Sylvia was such an honorable man and a great role model to me as I was growing up. I can vividly remember him as our local "rock star" as he and his band played live music for our "Big" teen dances! He not only was a great musician, he was a tremendous basketball player. I was so honored when he asked me to play on his team. We were the Chieftains and challengers to the Southern Ute Braves, the local dominant team. Sylvia was our player/coach. It was those days that Sylvia got the nickname "Time!" I know he quickly transferred the name to me, but he was the original Time!! Sometime I will have to share with you the origination of the name.
Cathy and I will miss seeing him at your games. It won't be the same walking into the gym and not seeing him seated with Barbara on the bottom row of the bleachers. I knew when we saw each other I would see his wide grin and greeting of "time, along with the time out gesture!"
I know your Dad was very proud of his boys, and rightly so. I know you will miss him. I will miss him. Sylvia was an outstanding person and honored to call him a friend! Please pass along our deepest sympathy to Barbara and the rest of the family. I can only say that we were so very blessed to know him. God Bless you all.
I didn't have Chris' address so if you would share this with him I would be very appreciative.
