I studied with Claude in El Paso, Texas ca. 1954 through 1958 when I moved to Mexico City where he visited my family before going on to the Casals cello competition in Feb. of 1959. I will forever be grateful for his patient and generous advice and the memory of his beautiful, always elegant playing. God bless you, Claude

I was one of the girls at the house below Kato's at the summer School. I remember the cello playing at the concerts and Claude will be remembered to me, still loving the cello music.

Dear Sharon & John, Dr. Harris & Care Centre, Friends,
For offering deepest condoloences to you and all who knew this good man, it is with resolute sadness, that one may feel happy to know of a truly full life, and relieved from the pain of six years in severe care.
Though I never had the honor of meeting Mr. Kenneson - to shake his literary marvel and Cellist's bow hand - there has been communication via letters & cards-Mail, eMail and even once by telephone, since the death of Nadia Koutzen, September 8, 2011.

Being the great grand nephew of his 'Cello teacher [Horace Britt] has taught me- through much education and time- that Music is as much a part of us as blood, itself. Even if it's bonded by blood, what one discovers on one's own is owing to such writings and teachings as Mr. Kenneson has done, with his great affinity...and then listening to the gifts and recordings of his subjects.
As a tribute to C.E. Kenneson and his good memory, it is easier to appreciate the most profound meaning of creative and expressive purpose, and to practice these gifts which honor every living Soul.
And So, I can also write this on behalf of the Mom, knowing that Heaven will somehow find a way to join their spirits, again, forever now maginified.
Thank you...

I have so many great memories of Claude.
He loved hearing ANY story I wanted to share.
Every time he spoke of his family, as well as Eric and Shauna, he always stood up straighter. Even in his later years, he could not contain his pride. AND, to the very end, our dear Claude still had perfect pitch!
You were such a good friend to me, Claude.
Bless you.
(Brian, thank you for being everything to Claude. You meant the world to him).

I was sadden to hear of his passing. As a student of his at the UofA, I had the great pleasure of seeing his love and enthusiasm for the cello. If only I could have been as good a student as he was a teacher. My sincere condolences to his family.
