Thinking about you Darlene with much aloha.
Thinking about you Darlene, with much
Hard to believe that a whole year has passed without my friend. I miss you like it was yesterday. Much love to Darlene's family. Her loss is too big to put into words. xo Shauna Labrie
Memories of you are deep in our hearts. Remembering your laughter reminds us of the happy times and help to shelter us through the storm. With every story, each tear and each tender memory, your life will always fill a special place in our hearts! We will remember with love and kindest regards, meka aloha pumehana...specail prayers were spoken and flowers placed in the ocean along the coast in Maui. Mahalo nui loa for touching our lives. Ke akua pu a hui hou,God Bless you and Aloha until we meet again.
I worked with Darlene for several years at AADAC. We shared many laughs! I just learned of Darlene's passing and wish to send my belated condolences to the family. Thankfully, memories live forever and she left behind a legacy of passion, energy, fun and friendship!
I would like to share the experience I had of having the opportunity to carry a portion Darlene's ashes to the resting area she so desired to see. Darlene has been a friend since childhood. Our relationship continued as I moved to an unbelievable distance from her, Australia. Australia was a place she was always going to eventually visit. Who would know that she would leave us so soon.
Her family sent a portion of her ashes with my daughter when she came back home for a visit. It was a very honoring experience and I treasured her ashes that were packed in a special box.
The ashes of Darlene travelled across the Pacific Ocean landing in Sydney N.S.W. A few days after my granddaughter's Christening. We flew to Brisbane, Qld. Then travelled via car to the Gold Coast, and finally settling in for a long road trip heading north in our Motor Home. Stopping at Noosa, Sunshine Coast, Bundaberg, Calliope River, Rockhampton, Mackay and finally to the special destination where Darlene was to come see me in Cannonvale, Whitsundays Qld.
Not far from where I once lived is Cannonvale Beach. It is a special place that I have spent a lot of my time over the years. Down the beach is a special rock of which I name it “My Rock” because over time my experiences there have been truly special to me. I wanted to share this special place with Darlene. I released her ashes from “My Rock” and prayed in the tranquil moment for the Holy Spirit to witness and hover over the azure water. The deep blue is amazing as the suns reflection shines on the unique silica sand. This is now where Darlene's ashes have settled on the tranquil shores of the Whitsundays. I feel so Blessed to have had the opportunity to truly have a hand in laying my dearly beloved friend-sister to rest. She is with me always and I will cherish the memory.
My deepest condolences to all family and friends for the great loss of such a vivacious, smart and fun woman. I have fond memories of our times together throughout highschool. I'm very glad to have spent some time catching up with each other at the reunion and fiftyth Birthday. Darlene...I just know that you are with all of the angels keeping everyone smiling with your great sense of humour and kindness! Love and blessings for always..
Though the last time I saw Darlene, was at our High School 30th reunion, we were in the same schools from playschool on. I can only imagine how you are feeling. I can only think some flames burn very bright so not as long. Celebrate the days, you shared and remember the moments that made her special in your lives. Love to all of you.
Thinking of you all. Darlene will be greatly missed. She really was a bright light. George and lilli
