I would like to share the experience I had of having the opportunity to carry a portion Darlene's ashes to the resting area she so desired to see. Darlene has been a friend since childhood. Our relationship continued as I moved to an unbelievable distance from her, Australia. Australia was a place she was always going to eventually visit. Who would know that she would leave us so soon.
Her family sent a portion of her ashes with my daughter when she came back home for a visit. It was a very honoring experience and I treasured her ashes that were packed in a special box.
The ashes of Darlene travelled across the Pacific Ocean landing in Sydney N.S.W. A few days after my granddaughter's Christening. We flew to Brisbane, Qld. Then travelled via car to the Gold Coast, and finally settling in for a long road trip heading north in our Motor Home. Stopping at Noosa, Sunshine Coast, Bundaberg, Calliope River, Rockhampton, Mackay and finally to the special destination where Darlene was to come see me in Cannonvale, Whitsundays Qld.
Not far from where I once lived is Cannonvale Beach. It is a special place that I have spent a lot of my time over the years. Down the beach is a special rock of which I name it “My Rock” because over time my experiences there have been truly special to me. I wanted to share this special place with Darlene. I released her ashes from “My Rock” and prayed in the tranquil moment for the Holy Spirit to witness and hover over the azure water. The deep blue is amazing as the suns reflection shines on the unique silica sand. This is now where Darlene's ashes have settled on the tranquil shores of the Whitsundays. I feel so Blessed to have had the opportunity to truly have a hand in laying my dearly beloved friend-sister to rest. She is with me always and I will cherish the memory.
