To family, friends, and colleagues: I love this picture! We were all so incredibly blessed to share our lives with Darlene, such a vibrant, intelligent, compassionate, and funny person. I had the pleasure of working with Darlene for many years at AADAC on things like the Alberta Drug Strategy, the beginnings of the Alcohol Strategy, numerous briefings and action requests! She always asked great questions and made me think beyond the surface. She always made fun of me and called me names like Czarina. She loved her life, her family, and her career. I will miss you, dear friend, and I'm raising a 'cheers' back to you!

Darlene was truly a lovely colleague, passionate about addiction prevention and treatment. I worked with her for a brief time only and fondly remember her contributions to our projects! My condolences to her family and many friends.

Condolences to my dear friend Darlene's, family. The loss of my cherished friend leaves me humbled that I was so fortunate to have shared a part of my life with her. I will dearly miss all that she meant to me, her zest for knowledge with the capacity in knowing astounded me at the same time her ability to extend herself in ways that showed her true loving self. She was close like a sister and was there for me as we grew up. She shared with me that my family was like a second family to her. We experienced the wonders of life's mysteries as we enjoyed each others comany. I am thankful to her for recently making the effort to see me in Mexico, twice, and in Vancouver. I will cherish all that we shared and I miss her with all my heart. I pray her soul, the angel within, will continue to glow and touch her beloved family in heaven... as she has touched all of us.

Our paths crossed a couple of times in our careers - what a great person Darlene was. In loving memory to a wonderful and selfless person.

How great to read all of these tributes to a wonderful woman and you've chosen the perfect photo to capture her spirit and light. I worked with Darlene at AADAC over many years on important areas such as a provincial alcohol strategy and harm reduction. She was quite simply brilliant as well as passionate and committed. She also had a great sense of humour and was just fun to work with. We will all miss her dearly and I would like to express my deepest condolences to her family. Wishing you peace, strength, love and comfort in this difficult time.
