On behalf of the Edmonton FireFighters Memorial Society, please accept our condolences on Evan's passing.
Please know that he will be missed greatly. Although I have never had the pleasure in working with Evan, talking to several members and retirees who did he was a very well respected member of our department.
We want to give your family time to grieve your loss but if you could please mark Tuesday September 11th 2018 on your calendar, as that will be the day of our Annual Remembrance Ceremony.
It will be the day that we remember all those members that we have lost in the past year.
It is also a very special ceremony as we have the family members of those members involved in the event itself.
It gives us all a chance to say goodbye and it helps with the closure as well.

If I could have a family member to contact me at 780-619-1564 or at [email protected] then I can get back to them and we can talk about arrangements for this years ceremony.

In closing, please accept our deepest condolences on your loss and know that Evan will be missed.

To Skip & the rest of the McDonald family;
Please accept our deepest condolences. I was really saddened to hear of Evan's passing. When I read the email, I shed a tear, because I thought I would be able see or speak to Evan one more time!
I had the good fortune to work with him on the floor as a firefighter & then as a fire investigator.
It was because of Evan I became a fire investigator.
He taught me so much & opened a whole near career.
Evan also taught me a lot about life & was an excellent role model. I owe him more then words could ever express!
Unfortunately Cheryl & I will not be able to attend Evan's Celebration of Life as we are out of the country.
Our thoughts & prayers are with you Skip & the rest of the family.
Rest In Peace Evan! You will be missed my friend!!

It was with great sadness that I heard this morning from Terry B and the Brigade that Evan had passed away. I would consider Evan as one of my closest friends in Canada during my service with EFD both on and off the job where we combined together on many ventures. I feel fortunate to have shared that comradeship and like many, it would seem, had the chance recently to reconnect by Email after too many years and express my good feelings to him. Rest in Peace EVAN you are in a better place.

I'm glad I had the opportunity to talk to Evan last week. I haven't seen him for 30 years. He was a fun guy to work with!

To Skip, Evan's wife and all of his loving family, please accept my sincerest condolences for your loss of Evan - he was my good friend and fellow fire firefighter for many years in Edmonton. We communicated by e-mail from Westlock a few weeks ago and I'm so fortunate to have been able to reconnect with Evan and say hello.
Bless you all, Evan was a good guy and I know how much you will all miss him - as will I.
