Dear Bernie, Laura and Trisha
My heart goes out to you at this difficult time. I cherish the memories of our many happy times together, the many suppers at your home, the lunches at Stony, and the amazing trip to Saskatchewan.
Who can forget your trip to Montreal and Swartz's!
But most of all I remember the laughter. It was an honour and a blessing to have Darlene as my friend.

To the Arnold family: My condolences to all of you on the loss. Through my mother's eyes, I watched Darelene's fight. She has taught us all an amazing lesson, even after passing, to seize the day and enjoy every second of it. I say a prayer for you all. An angel on Earth now cares for us from up above.

I did not know her, but I think that there is a good possibility that her children, through her husband, have United Empire Loyalist ancestry. There are several Arnold men on the Loyalist Directory on the Dominion website. The UE designating a descendant of a Loyalist is representative of the only hereditary title in Canada, passing perpetually through generations. There is a branch of the United Empire Loyalists' Association of Canada in Edmonton.

I am so sorry for your loss. I never got the chance to meet Darlene, but from what I hear she was quite a woman! I have never met a family more strong and more loving than yours.
