My deepest sympathy to the Anand family. I had the privildge of working with Dr Anand at the RAH. He was a gem of a man, a skilled and kind psychiatrist and one that always had a smile for everyone he met. He will be sadly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing and working with him.

My heart is with all of Sonny's family and friends. We were acquainted in high school in Grande Prairie and I always appreciated his warm personality. Take good care of each other. Life is so sweet and precious.

My deepest sympathies to Sonny's wife, children, family, and friends.

I was a very young high school teacher when I first met Sonny. He used to make me laugh so much and tease me about his being one of the "brothers" back in the early 80's, we did have some great basketball and 21 battles! I am so saddened at his passing, but I have many happy memories of teaching, coaching, and playing on his flag football team after he graduated. I am truly blessed to have taught him. I knew he would reach his goal of becoming a doctor after high school. He helped generate at the time, what was a wonderful school spirit. I wish I could have spent more time with him as he taught me more than I could ever have taught him. Thank you Sonny for such a special time!

I wish I had a last chance to tell you
How deep you reside in our hearts and how badly you would be missed.

People say the world is getting crowded, I surely think it's True because it is losing people like you who always stood apart from the rest, inspired everyone and made the world a better place. The unmatched brilliance and perseverance you possessed is a reason strong enough to guide us through the hardships of our lives.

Thank you for being a part of my life.

First I would like to give my condolences to Sonny's wife and family, only you know how much he meant to you and the depth of the loss you feel now.

I met Sonny in medical school and I am glad that I could call him a friend. To me, Sonny was one of those 'larger than life' people who commanded attention just by his presence, but he never sought the limelight. He had an incredible sense of humor and had the ability to make everyone laugh, whether it be what he said or did that everyone could see or hear, but often even more were the "one liners" that he would quietly say to his friends close enough to be in 'ear shot'.

He loved to shoot hoops at the gym at the Royal Alex hospital beside the lounge where we would hang out as student interns. I'd laugh as he'd joke around and goof off but I didn't take him up on his offer to play more than maybe 1 time (& he handily won).

Even in the face of his debilitating illness he kept his humor and lost non of his quick wit or intelligence. I miss him cracking a joke, reminiscing about our shared time in paediatrics or internal medicine, and him calling me "Toddler" in a goofy voice.

To his children: know that your dad was well-respected and loved by many and will be sorely missed. There are only a few people that you will meet in life that leave an indelible mark, and your dad definitely was one of them.

I miss you already Sonny, rest in peace my friend.

Condolences to the Anand family. Sonny was a memorable character in high school and from reading the tributes I can see that he achieved his dreams (as I knew he would). May you find peace in all the amazing memories of Sonny.
