I first met Heinz when I joined Wynn Forbes Lord Feldberg Schmidt in 1974. We worked together in the firm for the next 16 years with Heinz as the structural engineering partner. Heinz's dedication to his discipline was remarkable and his professionalism was widely known in the city. His intellect was unparalleled - from engineering, to philosophy, to music, to travel. He offered a very formal and structured approach to our architectural practice which we all benefited from. Heinz had a very singular sense of humour. I was privileged to be a a partner with him in the firm of Schmidt Feldberg Croll Henderson. We miss his passing.

Dear Donna, Kirsten, Peter, and John:
I wanted to say just how saddened I was to hear of Heinz's death. I had the good fortune to marry into the other half of the Feldberg family, so to me he was always Uncle Pief. But having been born in Edmonton we had another connection, and I enjoyed our visits when Gina and I came to visit Mutti and, indeed, when Susanna and I visited more recently. Whenever I think of Pief I think of that old saying "still waters run deep" for while he was not particularly gregarious (like his brother, Hans), you could tell that he was a very serious and indeed incredibly knowledgeable guy. (I always enjoyed talking politics with him, even though we rarely agreed!)

But what I will most remember is how he supported me and, especially, Seemah, when Gina died. We were both deeply moved that he came to Toronto to be with us during that time. May his memory be a blessing.

In sadness,
Rob Vipond

Respectful condolences from the McCaughey children to Mrs. Feldburg, Kirsten, Peter and John. We have fond memories of growing up in Rio Terrace, with you as good neighbours. Mr. Feldburg was a gentleman, and, we remember he met often with our Dad on community league affairs.
