I remember Hobie when I worked in Public Relations at the City of Edmonton Parks & Recreation Dept, which was way back in the 70s. I remember he baked me an Angel Food cake for my birthday. He was a very kind and generous person. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Ildiko Fashoway (nee Hayzel).

Judy, I have many fond memories of the years Hobie and I worked together for Parks and Recreation. We would often start our day with coffee and Hobie would tell me about his latest cookbook purchase or the "old" days when he was playing baseball and football. He loved to give me cookbooks and I could always count on him to help me plan a Gourmet Girls dinner. I am leaving today for the ARPA Conference, an organization that Hobie was involved with for many years, and won't make the celebration.

I knew Hobie as a strong and kind leader, his style of leadership has been missed at the City of Edmonton and I am sorry that the world will now miss this lovely man.

Hobie was a truly unique character who I worked with for many years. We had our disagreements over the years but always had an endearing respect for each other. My condolences to Judy and family.
