Miss you mom. But we know you are peaceful.

LIL was a fine lady we all knew from her involvement with Edmonton Strathcona Lions Club. We worked with Lil selling Dream Home tickets at KDAYS for years, Lil was a lovely person always smiling and in a happy mood and very friendly, Lil was an excellent baker as when our club worked Bingos Lil always brought a beautiful home baked cake, Sheila remembers her great poppyseed cakes, and Adele and Sheryl her marvellous daffodil cakes, Lil was very lovely and although we all have not seen her in years none of us have forgotten her, GOD BLESS HER KIND SOUL IN HEAVEN.

Lil always had a happy smile and was willing to share. We enjoy a recipe for a lemon pound cake that Lil passed on to us. Our family knows it as "Lil Breen Cake".
We later learned Lil got the recipe from Helen Chisholm with the Lions. We enjoyed many good years with Lil and the Lioness ladies.

So sorry for the loss of such a wonderful, caring person that we loved so much. She made our lives so much better just knowing her. Deeply saddened by her loss.

Paddy I have wonderful memories of your mother. She was always happy and very generous with delicious pastries. It was always great to come to your house. Your mother was always so welcoming. Thinking of you at this time.

What a wonderful message Candy. Sandy and I were remembering your Mom as well this week. Jean was the first person to come to mind when we thought of Moms freinds. We wish you and your family all the best.

Sandy, Paddy, Michael, and Paul ... I am so very sorry to read about the passing of your Mom. Although we lost touch with her when Alzheimer's intervened, I feel as though I have just lost a beloved "aunt". I remember Lil from the time I was a small child. She was simply always a part of my life as well as the life of Edmonton, all dressed up with Bob for Klondike Days. And I have such fond (more recent) memories of Lil walking up our driveway with my Mom (Jean Dornfield) on special occasions, all ready to party and hold court in "Senior's Corner". The two of them were always a highlight of every gathering. Now they are together again, Mom with her camera and Lil with her fancy little pinwheel sandwiches. Heaven is a bit more complete.
