So sorry to hear of Oscar's passing. I met Oscar at the medical clinic in Two Hills, where I worked. He was a great gentleman. He came to visit my parents when they lived with me. He came to visit after they were gone. He always had an interest story to tell and many jokes. I will miss him greatly. He was a great human being. Bye Oscar RIP.

Oscar had the "can do" attitude. He played a pivotal role in helping us recall the Canadian Airborne Regiment from leave and then dispatch them for UN peacekeeping during the civil war of 1974.
More importantly, you were a wonderful person to know and work with. I have nothing but the highest respect for you.
My condolences to your family.

My condolences to Oscar's family on the loss of an amazing Metis man who lived life to the fullest. I volunteered time with Oscar on the Metis Judiciary Council for many years. Our friendship continued as we would find time to visit or talk on the phone. I will always cherish the stories of his life, his honesty in standing up to what is right and his witty Metis humor. Rest in Peace my friend.

It is with sadness that I extend condolences to the Oscar Lacombe family on his recent passing. A true Canadian and Albertan
he made major contributions to all levels of our life including community. I will never forget his authoritarian control of the Alberta Legislature which always seemed to be balanced with unique humor. Rest in peace. Thanks for your many contributions.

I worked with Oscar at the Legislature for several years with many memories. I have hunted and ice fished with him and we had so many great times over a "dram" or two. He will be missed and my sympathy to the family

There are memories that time does not erase and working as a tour guide at Alberta's Legislature is one of those. Oscar was a larger than life presence, always ready with a joke, kind and fun. Take comfort in your memories of Oscar at this sad time. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

On this peacekeepers Day, I remember Oscar not only as a peacekeeping NCO with me in Port Said Egypt but as a personal friend of Joyce and I. We will never forget Christmas together at our married quarter in Soest, Germany a couple of years after our peacekeeping tour.

In our retirement years, we spoke with Oscar by phone about three times per year. We are both fortunate that we had a long chat this July.

Oscar will be remembered at our PEI Peacekeepers Day ceremony this afternoon.
August-05-17
I remember Oscar from his years of service to Albertan's at the Alberta Legislature, I was often in the Building as my father was a Lougheed era Cabinet Minister. Oscar always had a warm greeting and a joke. I extend my sympathy to his family.
