I was amazed on a daily basis with Paul's creative ability to bring the thoughts of an exhibit to life in 3D minitures. But what I remember the most was his gentle kindness, humour and friendliness. A quote comes to mind when one has passed that I find comfort in, and I hope Paul's family can too...
THE SOUL TAKES FLIGHT TO THE INVISIBLE, AND THERE ARRIVING IS IN FOREVER BLISS.-PLATO

you have found your bliss Paul, enjoy your peace.

Paul was one of kind. As many people have attested to, he was very talented and creative and had a great sense of fun. I worked with Paul for over 35 years, and we worked on many exhibits together. In meetings he was always sketching ideas - thinking in 3-D. One winter, he taught a charcoal sketching class to staff at lunch time. He said to sketch the form of the shadows, then the light would reveal itself. Great words of advice I have never forgotten. Condolences to Jessie and Kelsey. Rest in peace Paul.

Rest in peace Paul. You were one of a kind--your sketches were wonderful and are treasured by all who received one.
I enjoyed working with Paul for several years at the Provincial Museum of Alberta.

Paul was a great colleague who brought humour and sensitivity to our projects at the museum. He understood the big picture--the vision--and came up with the creative solutions to make the vision reality. I especially appreciated his support on the various Indigenous initiatives on which we worked together. He will be greatly missed.

For over two decades I worked and shared the museum and life experiences with Paul. Paul was a mentor to many of us as well as a friend. Through his humour, talent, and patience he made the museum a better place. We were lucky to have him. He often spoke of his daughters - they were the light of his life. Our deepest condolences to his family. He will be missed and remembered. Gary Erickson and Joy Steele
