My sympathy to the family, I have many fond memories of Roy in the early days at Seba. One is how proud he was harvesting the first crop of peas in about 1944. Both Sam and Roy had a very hearty laugh, one I will always remember.

I'm thankful for the many laughs I had with Roy. Three things come to mind when I remember Roy. He was very generous, he loved his family and he loved to tell people about Jesus.
What an honor to have been able to spend great memories with a great man.
I look forward to seeing him again, many more good memories to come.

The passing of a loved one is such a difficult time, even though we have a "sure hope" and know that Uncle Roy is now with the Lord. But even in difficult times, the memories can be sweet. I will always remember his love of the Lord, his love of singing, and his love of telling great stories in the funniest way possible. I know that everyone has their favourite "Uncle Roy Story," and right now, I am thinking of a story involving a road trip down south, a buzzard and (I think) a donkey.... Even in my sadness, it is making me laugh out loud. I'll miss you, Uncle Roy. Thank you for being the man you were. My thoughts and prayers are with Aunt Anita, Ken, Barb, Andy and their families.

Wow, our family only lived in Edmonton for 12 years in the 50's and 60's but Roy and Anita became family friends for a lifetime. Roy loved and served the Lord all his life and as a result, those whose lives were touched by him, were blessed. What a legacy he has left. May those who follow us find us faithful as Roy was faithful. We look forward to meeting Roy again.

I will always have so many good memories of Roy, dinner at the Golden Capital, and great times in the saddle shop, but my best one will always be my mom, Gladys Hubschmid laughing like a school girl at some story Roy was telling. I'm sure the story was mostly true.

Roy was a friend and mentor to many in the saddle making and leatherwork community, including me, for which I am very grateful. He is already missed and please take comfort that his sense of humour, kindness and humanity will be remembered by all who knew him. I pray that you will find comfort in your faith and knowledge that Roy's was a life well lived.
