My condolences to Valeta, Victoria and Family.
I am saddened to read of Grampa Stan Reid passing. He was such a good friend for 27 years and treated me as his own family. I will miss our lunches together at Colonel Belcher with your favourite clam chowder and fish & chips from Joey's Seafood. Sorry, I was not at the funeral to honor and pay my last respect to a great man, as I was with my grandchildren overseas. Rest In Peace Gramps ( that's how he signed the cards that he always sent). We love you.

Doris and I have special memories of first meeting Stan in 1952/53 shortly after his marriage to Ellen who was a life long friend of Doris's dating back to Grade 1 at Carlton Public School in Vancouver. Both couples married in 1952 and during the Reid's BAY posting to Montreal in the 1960/70 period we traveled from Washington, DC to visit them in the suburbs. Then about the same time in 1973 both couples relocated to SE Calgary where we connected again featuring discussions on families and Stan's gardening all the while he and I enjoyed single malts. The Reids visited us here in Victoria for the last time on the 29/05/15.

My sincere condolences. I will remember Stan as genuinely kind and caring. He always had a smile and a kind word for everyone. Our families as friends when we grew up in Edmonton had some wonderful times together. I treasure the memories of both Stan and Ellen. Blessings to your family, Mary-Jean Burrows (Pinsky)

Stan and Ellen are among the nicest people B.J. and I ever met, through highland dancing or anywhere else. May they rest in peace together now.

It was with regrets that I could not attend Stan's remembrance service. He was a loyal and true friend over the years. Ellen and Stan were a part of my family at Central Park, Burnaby.
With deepest sympathy,

Angela, my sister Jean,

Donald Bell

I have fond memories of Stan and Ellen visiting us in Port Arthur about 1954 and reminiscing about their days in the Air Force when they were teenagers. A long time ago. Sincere sympathy to the family.
