My condolences to the Laschuk family on Walter's passing. I grew up as a neighbour (although Walter had a few years head start on me) to Walter and his family in rural Alberta. Later Walter was my grade 6 teacher. One memory I have of that was that few families had televisions in those days but Walter lived in the "Metropolis" of Warspite and he had a B&W T.V. One afternoon he walked our class about 2 blocks to his house to watch an afternoon movie, "Thunderhead, Son of Flicka", on his T.V. Very memorable for me! That was a very enjoyable year in school. As life went on and largely due to geographical distance, I didn't see Walter often but whenever I did, it was always a great pleasure to see him with his gentle, laid back demeanor. He will be missed.

Betty and Family: Principal Wally was one of the fine Gentlemen who welcomed me into the teaching profession with ECS. He and his Principal colleagues were so inspiring in teaching and mentoring new teachers how to combine professional work and fun social times. Wally helped shape so many bonds in our District, and will be valued and remembered for those gifts. Many Blessings and RIP Wally, thank you for being you.

Betty and family, we were so saddened to hear of Wally's passing. I always respected Wally and considered him a mentor as I started my administrative career as his assistant. We enjoyed our many visits with you both at Bonnie Lake. Gordon and Audrey Harris
