We are deeply saddened at the difficult time you are facing with the loss of your husband and father. I want to express my appreciation for the wonderful help Bill Prunkl gave at King Edward Park School, Edmonton in the 1954/55 Grade Five school year. Ihad just arrived in Edmonton after fleeing East Germany as a twelve year old orphan who knew no English. Bill Prunkl
used ingenious methods and fellow classmates such as precious Robin Carson to help me. Mr Prunkl was way ahead of his time teaching ESL.
I was fortunate to reconnect and thank him personally.
Our condolences go out to his widow Joan and family!
He dedicated his long career to teaching and helping others. A unsung hero and wonderful role model!! Thank you!!

My deep condolences to the Prunkl family. I remember when Bill, Joan, Roxanne, and Rene visited our family in BC about 1970, trying unsuccessfully to establish whether we were related. Years later, in 2010, I was doing my own family history research, and I phoned Bill, happy to tell him that we were in fact fourth cousins. So good to be connected with Bill's family! RIP Bill, and thank you for making that initial introduction.

My most sincere condolences my dear Rene. The two weeks Lise and I spent with you, Chris, Joan and Bill going through the Rockies is for ever one of our best memories. What a teacher and a father he must have been.
