May you rest in peace, Sir Dave. I grew up as a child listening to your music. My dad introduced me to your music when I was 10. He had great taste in music "Dave Brubeck". My 10 year old granddaughter brought me a CD with my favorite on it. Yep, "Take Five". I am passing your music on to my granddaughter. Thank you. You will live on in our hearts forever and I will continue to play your music. I thank God for you and all that JAZZ! God bless your family. You were truly a shining star!!! (smile)

The passing of a great icon in music is tragic. However, we have his music recorded for prosperity.
I was born in late 1958; I do not know when I first heard "Take Five". I was in my 20's when I found the 45. An unscratched copy of "Time Out" took longer to find.
Brubeck was one of the last living that I have on 78's. Too bad "Take Five" is not on a 78.
I will always enjoy "Take Five". I like versions performed by Al Jarreau, Quincy Jones, Accoustic Alchemy, to name a few.
