Davy and I met when we were in the third grade. I was a painfully shy little kid that wasn't too quick to talk, nor smile for that matter; but Davy (my beloved friend)...he was the complete opposite. Quick to smile and joke with a spark in his eye for life itself, he got me out of my shell, he got me to smile and laugh; in fact a good part of me today is directly the result of my friendship with Davy. Ever since-we were practically inseparable until our distractions from our new families and careers. I will always hold those childhood memories locked in my heart, I will always remember his gleaming smile, I will always love him as a brother, I will never forget him. My heart bleeds for our loss. To the Diaz family I thank you for allowing me to be his close friend. I thank you all for taking me in and tolerating my presence in your home. To the Diaz brothers, Able, Paul, Joe and Jerry; I always looked up to you guys in awe. You all have a sense of humor that is out of this freakin' world. I feel honored to have known you and to have been in your presence. To Mr. and Mrs. Diaz, especially you Mrs. Diaz, nothing that I or anybody could say help you in your bereavement. I still remember the time we all went for a walk around the neighborhood and somehow it was only you and I walking together, I learned a little bit about your history, I learned then a bit about your son Davy from a loving mother's perspective. It was then that I learned where Davy got his sense of humor, where that spark for life came from, I learned where that infectious and unique character came from. I can't imagine what pain you are going through. All I can and will do is to pray for you and your family. Pray that God may help assuage this pain. My Love and Condolences to you the Diaz family, my prayers are with you in these most difficult times.

Always and Forever,
Edbert Gil
