It was a privilege to have known Eleanor for the past 32 years and to have been one of her "Library Bunch Buddies." We have lost a wonderful mentor and friend who shared so much of the history of El Paso and of UTEP with us. She will always be remembered with deep affection and admiration.

My mother, Cecilia Abraham, was a friend of Eleanor's. Ironically, Cecilia passed away October 31 at age 93, a day before Eleanor. They were part of a great generation. I hope they're out there somewhere writing together.

Dr. Duke was my zoology professor in 1962. That became the best and favorite course in my entire college career, leading to a life-long appreciation of the study of animals.
