Mr. Hernandez touched many hearts at Mac Arthur Jr High! He was an OUTSTANDING principal! Always had a smile for every student. I am proud to have been one of his students! My deepest condolences to his family!
Mr. Hernandez was my principal at Mac Arthur, from the Fall of 1967, to the Summer of 1976. What a great person he was, and such a full, adventurous life he had. God bless you sir and may you rest in peace. Blessings to all your family.
Mr. Hernandez was my first Principal at Hart Elem. School, then I taught at MacArthur during his first year there. Returning to El Paso after 20 years away, my husband, children and I became close friends. We feel honored and privileged to have known him and been his friends. He truly was amazing. We admired his love for his children and his dedication to them, always putting them before his personal wishes or convenience. He also respected other people and found something good in everyone. We loved him and will miss him. May God have him forever in His peace.
Coach Lou Hernandez was a gentleman of the first order. He was my coach at Cooley School until I graduated in 1955 and had a positive influence on every one who knew him. Heaven is a better place because Coach Hernandez is there. May God comfort the family because of this great loss.
Mr. Hernandez was my principal at MacArthur Junior High from 1975-1978 and Cole was a friend in some of my classes. It was very moving and special to read his obituary and to see all that he had accomplished in his lifetime. He was a wonderful person who will be missed by all who knew him.
Best Coach, finest person and tremendous mentor.

A remarkable man who I looked up to as I became a teacher and followed his love of teaching as well. I was lucky to have known him and I will miss him.
