Duane Baker was a great man and it was an extreme pleasure to have worked with and known him. My deepest heartfelt condelences to his entire family as he will be deeply missed.

Duane was our best friend from grade school to the night he died. What a trajedy, a devasting loss. To describe Duane, you need many adjectives..kind, compassionate, loyal, and committed to uphold what he valued the most. He was passionate about helping children. I think he felt their vulnerability, perhaps from the experience of losing his only biological child right before birth. He cared about the childen in his family and gave, not only his money but his precious, limited time and energy to assure they knew they were loved. Yes, and the greatest of these is LOVE. This is the kind of man Duane was. To his friends he would give not only the shirt off his back but anything you needed. My husband and I recently lost our home with everything in it to the Waldo Fire in Colorado. Duane called my husband Winston and said," What do you need, $100,000. or $200,000? I'll be happy to give you what you need." We were lucky that our insurance was USAA and didn't need his financial help. Can you imagine what that offer meant to us? That was Duane, always giving to others, and never considering the cost to himself. He would just work a little harder.
God bless and hold you in His arms, Duane. We are going to miss our conversations and your succinct observations. As God's word tells us in Paul's letter to the Corinthians, " If we are absent from the body, we are present with the Lord." You are in his care and if God is for you , what more could you need? As we always used to toast," Salud, pesetes, and amor" and now a new ending, y no mas tiempo para disfurtarlos . How will we live without you? Best friends forever!
LOve xx&oo, Barbara and Winston

Duane Baker handled a car accident personal injury claim for me back in 2004 or 2005. I still grin to this day when I think about how well he put the claims rep from the insurance company in his place on numerous occasions. Feisty attorneys like Duane are hard to come by these days!

Mr Baker was a good man, great lawyer, and trusted colleague. I will miss our courthouse discussions greatly. My sympathies to the family.

Duane was a great man, and a great lawyer. I learned something from him every time we had a case, whether we were opposed or on the same side. His leaving us leaves a great hole in our community.
