Bob "Bobby" Garcia was my first cousin, one of many on my father's side but one of the few with whom I kept in touch. We were at UT-El Paso together and enjoyed many times and good laughs together. I always admired his ambition and determination and greatly regret his passing. I will always have fond memories of him.

We are sadden by the passing of your father while in Colorado fighting this disease. I remember when he would come to our parents house and hang out with my brother Eddie (Lalo) and Rene Alvarez (deceased). He always had a smile in his face and a twinkle in his eyes. I knew he would become successful in whatever he undertook after being graduated from Jefferson with my brother and the neighborhood kids. I remember Bobby ( with his AF uniform) coming to see my parents when he was on leave from the Air Force and that meant a lot to all of us. MAY HE REST IN PEACE AND GOD BLESS YOU ALL HERE IN EL PASO AND COLORADO. ON BEHALF OF THE DE AVILA FAMILY.

I want to thank everyone for keeping my father in their thoughts and prayers as he struggled these last few years. Though we were never able to make it happen, it was always his desire to return to El Paso so as to live out his remaining days by his family. As accomplished as he was in life, family - immediate and otherwise, was the most important thing to him. Knowing how much my father was loved has certainly brought some peace to his passing. - J.R.(Bobby) Garcia

Just want to say how awsome you all are for taking such good care of your dad all these years and for being there when he needed you all. I know it was hard but I know your dedication was so much appreciated by your dad even though sometimes he was angry. Of course I know I am a better persom for him having been my brother and how he took care of us and stepped in as the man of the family after our dad passed. He was truly an awsome "big brother." He is in our hearts and our memories to stay. Love you all, Aunt Romie

We are very blessed to have enjoyed your father's company, wit an humor. He encouraged me to pursue a higher education and follow my dreams. Our walk-abouts through McKelligan Canyon consisted of many conversations that helped me to reflect on life from a different perspective an enjoy every minute with family. Thank you for having shared your father with us. He is forever in our hearts and memories.
