Josephine D. Marino, loving, wife, devoted mother and grandmother, passed away August 19, 2016 at age 96. She was preceded in death by husband John Marino, daughters, Mary Elizabeth Blosser and Michal Anne Mikulyuk and sister, Lucy Reyes. Survivors include son, Henry Chavira; daughters, Priscilla Decker and Jody Prichard; sister, Mary Ann Gonzalez; 8 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. She was a lifelong resident of El Paso and graduate of Bowie High School. After returning from a US Army tour in Germany, she and husband John, became active members of the American Legion serving in a number of different capacities in the local post. "Josie" as everybody knew her, was as independent as she was outspoken. There was never any doubt as to where she stood or what she thought. Up until her death, she lived in the home that she and John built in 1954. It was a place where children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren returned to because it was "home". Visitation will be from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. with services to begin at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. Committal Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home Northeast.
