ACOSTA Rosie Acosta, 79, of El Paso, Texas, passed on March 14, 2012. Rosie was born August 30, 1932 to Teresa Flores and Francisco Garcia. She is preceded in death by her son, Moises "Sonny" Flores, Jr. and mother, Teresa Flores. Rosie is survived by her daughters, Leigh Kersh (Richard John), Terry Ann Flores, Dr. Robert Wayne Flores (DeeDee) and Roseann Acosta Rodriguez. She was blessed with nine beautiful grandchildren and three great-grandchildren: Max, Nathan, Kristin, Bo Flores, Brianna Flores McLane, Nicole, Aaron, and Danielle Rodriguez, Skyler, Sarah, and Tyler. She is also survived by her sisters, Betty Flores, Irene Simone-Caine, Norma Kidder, Ingrid Reyes, brothers Tony and Mark Flores, numerous nieces and nephews, and let's not forget her beloved Chihuahuas "Chiquita" and "Tiny." Rosie is well known for her business acumen at the young age of seven selling her own grown plants, vegetables, rocks and ladies hosiery to the neighbors. She went on to become a successful land owner and broker throughout her life until her last day. She will always be remembered by her magnificent beauty, her unbeatable culinary skills, her passion for gardening, her work ethic and amazing sense of humor. Her faith in believing that things would always be okay and assuring her children to believe in God stems from her unshakable faith. We will be celebrating her life at Martin Funeral Home Central, 3839 Montana Ave., on Monday, March 19, 2012 at 4 pm., officiated by her son, Dr. Robert W. Flores and grandson, Bo Flores. Our family would like to extend our sincere gratitude for the comfort and kindness shown by so many friends. Mom, you will always be so very special in our hearts. We love you!

Rosie,
As I look at the entries on this guest book, the very thing that I eulogized about you a week ago at the Celebration of Your Life services again come to mind...perhaps even more poignantly. You left a legacy of warmth, of dignity, of love and of action that will live on in your children. Like you, your family was a family who saw RISK as a challenge. They tackled those challenges. Whether they won or lost at each challenge, they took the lessons and applied them to the "next time around" just like you did. Your example set the tone, and you can be rightfully proud of Roseann as you can of Robert, of Sylvia Leigh, Sonny and Terry. Sonny has likely greeted you up there as has our Mom Teresa, your Dad Pancho, Moe, Bert and all the other folks you knew and loved who loved you equally.
Please know that in the hearts of those you left in this earthly existence, much emptiness must be filled to in some way adequately compensate for your departure.
We love you and miss you so, Hermana. In speaking to Irene and to Betty today, they are distraught at your departure. Norma is so admiringly philosophical yet I know that she, like Kinnie, Mark and me, are hurting deeply.
All I ask is that you keep our places up there prepared for our eventual arrival, no differently than the wonderful receptions you hosted at your Frankfort St home. God Bless You. PAX.
