Dear Perez Family,
I pray that God provides you strength to continue to get up and keep going each day when it must be very difficult to do so. I did not know your daughter, but I served at West Point recently and understand the character and faith required to thrive there. Evidence of her influence can be found in many places--she was even quoted by a West Point official in a speech in March. This woman made a difference by doing what we should all strive to do every day... She left the world better than she found it. God Bless you all and bring comfort to you all. mp

To the Perez Family:
May God grant you the strength to endure these hard times. I can only imagine how deep the loss of your beloved daughter, sister and friend impacts your family. I did not know Emily personally, but I am a platoon leader in the 4th Infantry Division here in Iraq also. I look at her picture and reflect: "that could have easily been me". She was only two years younger than me. I lift her up in prayer that her soul will rest in peace. She was a true American hero and may her legacy be forever ingrained in the lives she touched.

To the Perez family:

Out of all of the things that I remember from high school, one of them would have to be the smile of Emily. May God be with you during this time of bereavment.

What a beautiful and generous soul. We mourn the loss of your beautiful daughter who gave so much of herself to others. Bless you for raising such an outstanding young woman.

And they will have to beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning shears. Nation will not lift up sword against nation, neither will they learn war anymore. But God is not unrighteous so as to forget YOUR work and the love YOU showed for his name. So may you find comfort in the hope for dear Emily to be returned to you one day to enjoy life as God intended, free of war, death, and sadness. We can live happily, and safely, forever and ever on earth. (Isaiah 2:4; Hebrews 6:10; John 5:28,29; Psalms 37:29)

To the Perez Family,

Your daughter was truly a gift from God and her place in this world can never be forgotten. The lives she touched, and the people she developed will make sure she is always remembered. Though I know the hurt is here now, I feel the comfort of knowing Taz is now where she belongs, Next to her maker smiling (as always) and looking out for us. Thank you for her, and who she was. My prayers are with you all.
