The Perez Family:

I know words cannot express how deeply I value what your daughter means to this country in her untimely death.

I live about 8 miles from West Point and I see the cadets all the time in restaurants in the area. I often wonder if this is the last time some of them will ever enjoy life.

May God bless you and keep her in your hearts and minds.

Dear Perez Family,

I am so sorry for your loss. Though I did not know Emily, I read the tribute to her which was posted on daily kos. She was such a brave, intelligent, giving and talented person.

With deep sorrow, I honor her sacrifice.

Dear Sir, Ma'am:

My prayers are with you. A finer woman, a truer patriot never lived. May God bring you comfort. May Lt. Perez live on in the hearts of all whom she touched. She made a difference in this world.
