Corky Breece, 72, Washington, passed away Friday, May 15, 2015, at his home.
Corky was born July 29, 1942, at Jefferson Barracks Hospital, St. Louis, the son of the late Lucille Breece, nee Cleary.
Corky co-founded his own countertop business in St. Louis, Kitchen Modernizing, and moved it to Washington in 1988. He ran it until his retirement in 2004. He had a love for woodcarving, and belonged to several groups, including the St. Charles Woodcarvers. An avid outdoorsman, Corky enjoyed the quiet of the woods and water while hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed restoring his antique car and once restored, showing it off at car shows.
Corky is survived by his wife, Jan, who he married Oct. 5, 1999; his two children, one son, Ken Breece and wife Sharon, Rosebud, and one daughter, Kimberly Wroblewski and husband John, St. Charles; three stepchildren, Todd Sutter and wife Sonya, Orange Park, Fla., Greg Sutter, Toledo, Ohio, and Tara Sutter, Washington; 11 grandchildren, Erica, Hunter, Nicholas, Joseph, Anna, Brittany, Dustin, Riley, Dominic, Emma and Meghan; two great- grandchildren, Payton and Hunter; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Erica; his mother, Lucille Breece; his Aunt Eudie; and one brother, Ralph Pieper.
Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, at Miller Funeral Home, Washington.
A funeral Mass was held Wednesday, May 20, at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Washington.
Interment followed at St. Peter's Cemetery, Washington.
Memorial donations are appreciated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the American Lung Association.
The family was served by Miller Funeral Home, Washington.
