Virginia Walterman Obituary

Virginia Martha Walterman, nee Amptmann, 88, Wentzville, passed away Thursday, July 20, 2017, at her home.

Virginia was born Feb. 17, 1929, in Wentzville, the daughter of Urban M. Amptmann and wife Gertrude M. She was the beloved wife of Zeno "Dutch" Walterman. Virginia was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and the Bowling Hall of Fame. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend to many. Virginia will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her son, Paul J. (Kelly Hemmelgarn) Walterman, Wright City; daughter, Fay A. Walterman, Wentzville; sister-in-law, Janice Amptmann; brother-in-law, Jim Walterman; two sisters, Pat Wethington and Peggy Powelson, both of Wentzville; three grandsons, Cole Walterman, Derek Marquart and Brendon Howdeshell; and two great-grandchildren.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Zeno "Dutch" Walterman; father, Urban M. Amptmann; mother, Gertrude M. Amptmann; brother, Clarence Amptmann; and sister, Rosemary Allen.

Visitation was held Monday, July 24, from 1 to 8 p.m. at Pitman Funeral Home, Wentzville.

A funeral service was held Tuesday, July 25, at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Wentzville.

Interment followed at Eternal Peace Cemetery, Wentzville.

Memorials to Masses of St. Patrick Catholic Church, in care of Pitman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 248, Wentzville, MO 63385 are preferred.

The family was served by Pitman Funeral Home, Wentzville.
