Marvin Howe Kinsman was born to Hugh and Emily Kinsman on February 4, 1928. Marvin grew up in Rockchester Vermont where he graduated from Rockchester High School. One week after graduation in June 1946, he started active duty in the Navy for World War 2. He served 2 years, and was Honorably discharged as a Hospital Corpsman Third Class. He was awarded the WW2 Victory Medal and the American Area Campaign Ribbon.
Marvin continued an honest hard-working lifestyle. He worked for a telephone company until an eye injury forced him otherwise. Marvin decided to go back to school and took 2 years of Business at the University of Vermont.
On September 6th, 1949, Marvin was lucky enough to marry the love of his life Helen Ann Carson. He worked with Hancock Plywood, and after 30 great years, He retired at 55 in 1983. After that, Marvin and his wife Ann decided to move to Florida to take some time for themselves and enjoy some warmer weather. Marvin then started working for Publix, and after 15 years he retired at 70 for a second time.
Marvin has always been a huge part of his family, community and church in both Vermont and in Florida. He would volunteer and work food pantry, He was always involved and a willing hand for anyone who needed it. He was on multiple Church and School Boards. He had a passion for sports and loved to garden.
Marvin passed away in his Punta Gorda home on December 27, 2017. Survived by his wife, Helen Ann C. Kinsman of 68 years, and their two daughters Claudia Gail Reed and Karen Francis Moynihan and their families which include 4 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and a great great granddaughter and nieces and nephews. Pre deceased by twin brother Mervin, brother Russell, sisters Alice and Eleanor, and great-grandson William. .
Memorial services, February 4th, 2018 (Marvin's Birthday) will be held at Friendship United Methodist Church. Located at 12275 Paramount Drive Punta Gorda, FL 33955 following church service
