It seems as if Ike and Cora Beth were my neighbors, they were real to me. That speaks of the talent that Mr. Conley possessed. We often forget that acting is a job and that being on a regular series can be a lot of work.
I hope that knowing that even now, his work brings joy and entertains many, will bring you comfort.
May God's peace and His everlasting strength
be with you. Psalm 121

To The Conley Family:

From one Arizona State University Communications graduate to another in Joe, I salute his life and accomplishments. No one portrayed a character so true to life as Ike Godsey, as Joe did. He dealt with good times and bad, heartache and heartbreak. As Ike, he rebounded from the pits of financial ruin to reclaim his store, his life and his wit and wisdom on life. He was always there for his customers and neighbors. And he demonstrated the utmost patience in dealing with a nagging wife.

Joe's portrayal of Ike, will live on for generations and demonstrate there was a kinder and gentler time. While many of us never were in a general store, we all knew Ike and his store. More importantly, we all knew about life with him and because of him

Please accept my sincere condolences on Joe's passing. He will always be considered a treasure.
