Eric's folks had a sauna next to a pond at their home in Conn. I will always remember big gentle Eric throwing my three kids, Billy, Kristine and Debra Dyrland into the pond like they were footballs. The kids would laugh and beg for more. We sat in the rain in Syracuse, NY for a Tulane game .....also a Miami vs. Buffalo game where we got many dirty looks when cheering for Eric and Miami. Eric and the Laakso family will always remain a special memory in our hearts. With Sincere Sympathy, Kathy Dyrland Webster & family.

I played at Killingly High School with Eric in 1972. I was on the same offensive line with him. We were both offensive tackles. Not only was Eric a good football player he was a great athlete. At 6'4" and 260 lbs he was one of the fastest players on the team. I played tennis with him a few times and I was lucky to get a point. He never played basketball at KHS but he did play in the rec. league. Awesome and dominating. I believe he still holds the shot put record for the track team. A legend. He allowed me to brag that I not only played with Eric but I knew him as a great person as well. A fine man. Sadly missed.
