He was the gentle giant of the Killingly High football team. I remember getting the call for Bull in the ring excersize. A large circle where the coach called out two players and they ran full tilt into each other. We hit with such force I broke all the webbing inside my helmet and had a slight concussion. He apoligized and felt bad over the injury. He was destined for something greater.
I share the loss with the family for he left that field my friend.

He was the gentle giant of the Class of '74 Killingly High football team. I remember getting the call for the "Bull in the ring" training segment at football practice. A large circle where the coach called out two players and they ran full tilt into each other at the center. We hit with such force I broke all the webbing inside my helmet and had a slight concussion. He apoligized and felt bad over the injury. We all knew he was destined for something greater.

I share the loss with the family for he left that field my friend.

Bless the Laakso family ,Olaivi,Irma , and his two sons , We have all lost an icon this past Christmas ,someone that inspired truly by his actions and the gift he provided us all with ,simply his presence . We ,our gang , knew at a young age Eric was destined for the big time .What a thrill and with great pride I have had sharing our Erics high school , college and Miami Dolphin stories with the young people I have coached these past twenty or so years ,Eric was the epitome of hard work and perseverance evidenced by his accomplishments . Eric ; Godspeed ,...Until Then! with love !!! Timmy Panteleakos

Shane, Brent & Debbie, dad & Irma, I hope you find comfort in remembering all the wonderful times family & friends shared together. We had so much excitement that surrounded "our Dolphin" as we used to call him, but became so much more as friendship. You will be so missed.
Debbi, Rick, Jason & Lindsey Stark

My deepest sympathies to Eric's father, his sister Irma, and his family. Eric was a good friend in high school. We played football and ran track together, and shared many memorable times with friends like Chris, Joe, Timmy, Eddie, and others growing up during our high school years. Rest in peace my old friend.
