I am saddened to hear about Jim. I worked for Dahlkemper Bros. in the 70's. I'll always remember one day when I first started working with him. We were doing a spring cleanup on the Prep grounds. All of a sudden Jim's gruff voice boomed out, “Hey Mack, do you like beauty?” I kind of thought to myself, well…yeah. I went over to Jim who by this time was on all fours with that cigar stuck in his mouth showing me tiny flowers in the grass. Beautiful flowers and a great guy.
Mrs. D., Renee, Randy & families: peace & condolences as Mr. D. returns to the Lord. My late uncle, John Kaczenski, also graduated from Prep in 1951, and attended reunions with my Aunt Mary Ann through 1996. I first spoke with Jim at a college soccer game in 1986. I believe our last meeting was at Paul Brown's funeral in 2004. He noticed the back of my collar was a mess & repaired it for me. As the 1970 Ray Stevens song says, "Everything Is Beautiful (in its own way).". Many people & things literally are more so because Jim touched them. We can now add Heaven to that list. May he be forever at peace with Jesus Our Risen Savior!
Dear Bobbie, your family and Dahlkemper family: What a great person Jim was. He will be sadly missed. Our prayers are with you and your family.

When I pass my old childhood house at 3205 West 26th Street, a pine tree that Jim planted about 45 years ago stands very tall and dominates the entire landscape.
It will always remind me of Jim. He brought a lot of fun memories to our entire family.
Rest in Peace, Jim!
My condolences to the Dahlkemper family. I met Jim in the late 80s while working at Mercyhurst College, now University. His daughter, Renee, played varsity soccer there and Jim would attend the games. Renee later married Randy LaGue, who played four years of varsity hockey at Mercyhurst. I'm very sorry I was not able to get to the funeral home or the funeral mass. May God bless the Dahlkemper family.
Bobbi and family. So sorry to read of Jim's passing. I remember him so well coming into Flowers & Gifts by Jo and would always brighten our day. He certainly will be missed by all that loved and knew him. I am in Florida at this time for the winter so will not be able to make a personal visit. God bless you all.

I thoroughly enjoyed Jimmy's friendship during our high school days and always admired his work ethic. He and his younger brother are models for young industrious people to follow.
