Mr. Austin always called me the best neighbor ever but he was the jewel. He watched over my daughter coming home from school for years,he taught her to play the organ, he helped her with school projects, he took pictures of our ongoing house development,he never yelled at me when I melted his siding on his garage from too big a fire, he helped me to start lawn mowers...I had gone to visit him and he told me about his time in the service which I wrote up.They have decided to get display cases here at soldiers and sailors and i will let you know when this happens. Presently his uniform is displayed in my office along with other branches of the service. I was not aware of his passing until the services were complete. I will miss him immensely.
