Willie Twillie Obituary

Willie B. Woodard Twillie, age 88, 254 E. 26th St., passed away Friday, January 11, 2013 at Pleasant Ridge Manor-East. She was born in Shubuta, Miss., on October 17, 1924, daughter of the late Charlie Woodard and Willie Ann McGill Woodard. She was a resident of Erie for over 60 years. She was employed with various companies in Erie, including Firestone and Holiday Inn. She was a member of Mt. Ebal Baptist Church where she served as a missionary and started a successful building fund that she had a vision about. Willie enjoyed going to church, reading her bible and was a very spiritual person. She was a dedicated homemaker who loved gardening, cleaning and had a great love for her children and family members. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie L. Twillie; a son, Charles N. Twillie; a daughter, Jessie Mae Twillie Long; three brothers, Herman L., Lester B. and Charlie Woodard, Sr.; and a sister Mattie L. Woodard Cooley. She leaves to cherish her memory four sons, Willie L. Twillie (Geraldine), Tommie Lee Twillie, David Glenn Twillie and Michael Kelvin Twillie, all of Erie; a daughter, Barbara Williams (Major) of Hempstead, N.Y.; two brothers, Richard L. Woodard (Shirley) and Cecil E. Woodard, and two sisters, Johnnie Ree Campbell and Milli Roberts, all of Erie; her goddaughter, Lisa Campbell Johnson of Erie; 19 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Friends may visit with the family on Friday, 5 to 8 p.m., at Mt. Ebal Baptist Church, 1617 E. 26th St., and may attend a service at the church on Saturday, 11 a.m., conducted by Rev. Cleveland Ulmer. Interment in Erie County Memorial Gardens. Funeralization by House of Law Inc., 9406 Frankstown Rd., Penn Hills, Pa.
