Words cannot express how shocked and saddened I am about Rick's passing. As cadets of course we were immortal, and Rick especially so - always full of life and energy. Many of us have lost a friend. We'll miss him.

Dear Brown Family,
I have known Rick since I was in grade school as I went to school with his sister Debbie, in fact I was in her wedding at West Point. He always made me laugh even though I was so much younger and sometimes didn't get the joke. My heartfelt sympathies to the entire family. I think he is making someone laugh in Heaven right now.

To the Brown Family:

Please accept my deepest sympathy on the passing of Rick. I hope that the many memories you have amassed over the years will ameliorate at least some of your sorrow.

Rick exuded such vibrancy and energy at our recent West Point Class Reunion that the news of his death is as sudden, as it is sad.

Rick and I met over forty four years ago during Beast Barracks - Cadet Basic Training - at West Point. He was one of my two roommates that formative Summer of 1969. We have had a good laugh about our shared travails and triumphs since then.

I know that Rick was very proud of you all. He was eager to tell me about Diane and his children, while catching up in 2009 for the first time since graduation!

Blessings to you all,
Conrad Taylor, USMA '73

Dear Family,

Cedric and I had not met while at West Point. His passing, though, is like that of a brother. My wife, Lydia, and I offer you our condolences over Cedric's passing. May he rest in peace and his memories live on, forever.

Diane, Mandi and Ryan,
I became reacquainted with Rick during Ryan's 4 years at West Point as we shared the journey of those 4 years with both Ryan and my daughter, Caroline. I was stunned with the news this afternoon . Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time. He will be greatly missed by me as well. I am very grateful for those times we shared between 2005 and 2009.

Dear Diane and family, Mrs Brown, Chris and Debbie
We offer our deepest sympathy to you all during this very difficult time. Growing up a few doors from the Brown family is a memory I will always have. Our families have been longtime friends . It is difficult to find all the words to describe how much we enjoyed Rick over the years. Certainly he always left us with a smile and laughter in our heart. You will be missed by many and will forever remain in our hearts. RIP Ricky and Diane you will all be in our thoughts and prayers.
Sincerely
Mike and Karin Curcio

Diane,
My heart goes out to you in such a difficult time of sorrow. You have been on my heart since Monday morning & I have been praying for you since then. I have recruited many others to pray for you & your family as well. There is nothing to be said to make this any easier or any less devastating... all I can say is that I'm here (we all are) for anything you need - even just a shoulder to cry on or an attentive ear to listen. We had a very nice mini service with Russel from Pastoral Care this morning, and there wasn't a dry eye afterward! We are all here for you, Diane. We love you! I pray that God places His healing hands on your heart and helps you to find comfort. Your work family misses you, supports you, and loves you, Diane! Love, Rachel
