Donna and Family
When I was 16, my first job was at Stine's flower shop in Bangor. That is where I met Jim. He was so sweet and helpful to me and a lot of fun.
I will never forget him. After many years, we would meet on the street and he always remembered those times.

Dear Donna and family, I'm truly going to miss Jim a "special" fellow classmate. We always had great conversations when I would call regarding class reunion meetings etc. He was a guy who would always make you laugh, just so pleasant to know and be around. I will always remember him still having something funny to say when he called to tell me that he was too ill to attend our 50th class reunion and picnic in June. This world is now minus one great human, but I'm sure he'll keep them laughing in heaven. Sincerely

Dear Donna,
Jimmy will remain the young attractive apprentice to my father who was always kind and funny. I will never forget when my father died how he handled us with humor and gentility. He reminded us to take everyone up on their offers when they would tell us, "Anything that we can do." and I would encourage you and yours to do the same. God Bless you and your family.

Always remember that families are forever. Jimmy was a very close friend of both my family and I. We were in Boy Scouts together for several years and we always held our patrol meetings at our house on Second Street. After moving to Arizona, I lost touch with Jimmy. I will always have memories of my friend Jimmy.

My condolences to the Gaffney family,
It was a pleasure knowing Jim over the years . I'll never forget the joke Jim told me when I was an alter boy about , "Who sits in the back of a hears"? and his answer was , rigor mortis". That was Jim's sense of humor. Jim also had a serious side when he served our residents at the time of their passing at SBNRC. May God comfort your family at this difficult time.

It is with great sadness that I feel compelled to write and express my feelings for Jim. As is usually the case one regrets not making the phone calls and not sharing those special feelings, until it is too late. Jim was my cousin and dear friend. He was the one you turned to when you lost love ones, to make it “alright.” He never failed to have a collection of stories to make you laugh and now forever treasure. He was a devoted son, husband, father and grandfather, as is evident in the yearly Christmas letters that marked the start of the holiday season. Even if you didn't see him throughout the year, you felt connected to his family and the love he so deeply had for them by reading these letters, which I will greatly miss. There is a poem that speaks about what is most important is not the birth or death date of a person's life, but how they lived the “dash.” Jim's dash was bursting and anyone who was fortunate enough to be called his friend, his or her life was better for knowing him. I will all miss him so much.
With sympathy and love, Suzanne
