We will always remember Bill's kindness and interest in us and our son when he was at Lafayette. He was a wonderful man and will be remembered fondly by so many. Our sympathy goes out to Peggy, Glenn, Martha and the Lawson grandchildren and other family. We are saddened to hear this news.
Bill was my real mentor before I even knew it. A wonderful roll model. Class of '64, HHS,

To the family of "coach" Bill Lawson, from the Holyoke High School 1962 (Holyoke, Massachuetts) Reunion committee we give our condolences, prayers and thoughts to our swimming coach. William came to us in 1960 and gave us our three years from 1960 to 1962, and beyond. He was recently here in Holyoke to be the guest speaker for the dedication of the High School swimming complex, named for his replacement swimming coach of many years who accomplished a winning record of the school. William Lawson being the special guy he was, was a big enough of a man to come here for that celebration, and meet also with many of his former swim team members.
He will be missed by all.

So sorry to hear about this great loss. As a young child he was my swimming coach. He taught us survival swimming and he was awesome. He was a great man and will be missed.
To Bill's Family... I was so deeply saddened by the news of Bill's passing. I have worked with Bill for the past 25 years at the Army Lacrosse Camp, this being the first year that I did not get to share that experience as I retired the end of June but spoke with Bill the week I retired. I always looked forward to seeing him at the camp. A wonderful coach, man, human being.. one I will always remember and cherish our friendship. Please accept my deeped sympathy.

Dear Peggy and Family -- We are so saddened to hear of the tragic accident that took Bill's life. Although many years have passed since we were wonderful friends at Lafayette, we want to send our warmest love and prayers to you, Christine, and Glenn and their families. Bill was a great man and coach as well as a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather. God bless his soul and give you and your family the strength you need at this difficult time. Our grandson, Matt, is on the football team at Lafayette, and we are hoping we can see you when we are there.
Dear Peggy & Family,
We were so saddened to hear of the death of your
wonderful husband and friend. Bill was a remarkable man
with such a love of life and always willing to help those
around him. We left Lafayette several years back but will
always remember the good times we shared with you and Bill.
Our sincerest sympathy to you and your family during this
very difficult time.

Throughout the 40 years that I've lived in the Lehigh valley I have referred to Bill as the nicest guy you'll ever meet. It's always been true and will be so in the future. I've had a wonderful career at Lehigh and it would never have happened were it not for Bill Lawson. I'm indebted to him. The world is a lesser place without him. I will miss him until the day I die.
He was one of the great people in my life.
Peggy, Don and I were saddened to hear about Bill' accident. He was a warm and generous man... If not for him we wouldn't be in Delaware. It was back in the early 80's that we first rented his parents house and so began our love of Delaware.
Our sincere condolences to you, Peggy, and your children and grandchildren. Bill will be sadly missed.

Dear Peggy and Family -
I was a young swimmer at the Springfield Country Club when Bill was our life guard. I remember him as always kind and beloved by the youngsters under his care. At the swim meets, his diving was inspiring to those of us just learning. My heartfelt sympathy to all of his family at this time of great loss. May happy memories bring comfort and consolation. With deep sympathy... Helen Sady
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. My sincere condolences.
I was saddened to hear of Coach Lawson's untimely death. He will be missed by all those who knew him as a coach and a terrific person. It was my pleasure to have known him during his coaching at Lafayette. My thoughts and prayers. God Bless
My condolences to you, Peggy, and your children. Bill was a good friend, great person and well respected coach. He will be missed.
Mrs. Lawson, Christine and Glenn:
My family and I would like to express our sincere condolences to the entire Lawson family at this very difficult time. We've all read the numerous articles - including one where a Recine described how Mr. Lawson tossed her young child in to the pool - Boy, how many others out there like me can relate to that exact story? As a young kid, I ALWAYS loved going to that pool. Just know that I will never forget those times and all of you. May God rest his soul...
