Mary Iacono Recchia

Mary Iacono Recchia, 96, of Easton, formerly of Beverly Hills, FL, passed away Thursday, December 27, 2012 in Easton Nursing Center. Born: June 29, 1916, in Easton, she was a daughter of the late Calogero and Calogera Cravotta Iacono. Personal: Her husband of 57 years, Dominic A. Recchia, passed away May 1, 1997. Mary retired in 1978 from A & H Sportswear/Penbrooke, Inc. where she was a seamstress. Previously, she was employed by the former Shapiro & Sons. Years ago, she was an active Cub Scout den mother. She enjoyed doing alterations, needlework and crocheting for friends and family. Memberships: Mary was a member of Olivet United Presbyterian Church. Survivors: A son, Nicholas Recchia, Sr. and his wife, Eileen and a daughter, Carol L. Williamson and her husband, Jeffrey, all of Easton; three brothers, Tom Iacono, of Easton, Joseph Iacono, of North Carolina and Angelo Iacono, of Allentown; two sisters, Lee Nyffennegger, of Palmer Twp. and Grace Ealer, of Bethlehem Twp.; three grandchildren, Nicholas Recchia, Jr., Dana J. Fehr and Tracy M. Morris; four great-grandchildren, Alayna, Andrew and Alisyn Recchia and Cadence Spilsbury-Fehr; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ignazio and Paul Iacono; and two sisters, Calogera Lucy Deremer and Theresa Iacono. Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday in Olivet United Presbyterian Church, 1151 Northampton Street, Easton. Call Thursday 6 to 8 p.m. in the Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., 2101 Northampton Street, Wilson Borough and Friday 10 to 10:30 a.m. in the church. Burial will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine.
