To Helen & Jill,

I don't think I could possibly describe the feelings of sadness I experienced upon reading of Herb's passing. My mind immediately went back to those wonderful days of the late 50's, 60's, 70's and early 80's when we were all so young, involved in raising our "kids" and so devoted to the Church that we were all there every Sunday. Add to that the memorable special occasions - the annual Halloween Party, the Christmas Pageant and Party (How many times did Herb serve as Santa Claus?) and all the other special occasions. And Herb was in the middle of all of them. If there was ever a First Member of First Church, it certainly would have been Herb. We all could rely on him to solve every problem, fix anything that was broken, and take charge in the kitchen insuring that every spaghetti or roast beef dinner had every ingredient necessary to make it a smashing success. And what about his flare for decorating the Sanctuary for every special religious holiday. Herb never spoke of commitment;he demonstrated it every Sunday and on many other days in between. Sadly all era's eventually come to an end. Our era at First Church was certainly a great one and without a doubt, Herb was the central figure in that greatness. I am sure that the first words he heard upon entering the gates of heaven were "well done, my son" - words that were well deserved and most appreciated by me and the rest of us who comprised the First family during those marvelous years. Helen, you and Jill have my heartfelt sympathy as well as that of my entire family. We are very sorry.

Dear Mrs. LaFever, Jill and family,

So very sorry for your loss. Jill and I go way back and I remember always receiving a warm welcome when visiting your home. We wish you peace and strength to get through the grieving and always remember the love you shared as a family. I'm sure he and Jack are watching over you until you will all be reunited one day.

Our love and prayers,
Linda (Curcio)& Bob Micci
