Although I did not personally know your father, I would like to send my heartfelt condolences to you and your extended family upon your deep loss. What a wonderful photo of him--and such a generous, open smile on his face.
I have never forgotten the thoughtful sympathy card you sent me way back in 1965 when my own father so unexpectedly died. You will never know how this act of kindness touched my heart and is still remembered. I can recall sitting in the dining room and wondering from whom the card was sent. Upon opening it, there was your signed name--and tears came to my eyes. It was such a loving gesture from you and now it is my turn to reciprocate. There is just never the right time to say good-by to a loved one.
May the God of all comfort (2 Cor. 1:3) sustain you at this time.
