Barney was a great guy! He lived next to my Aunt Ellanora and Uncle Mike Emrick for as long as I can remember, and he was always so nice to everyone, even when we were kids and took over his yard to play football. He loved playing cards at the Emrick's, over the years, and in the 50's and 60's, he always had the coolest cars around. It's nice to know that he will be remember by his fellow citizens of Phillipsburg,

Barney and my father, dick smith, grew up as neighbors. I have fond memories of Barney and my father enjoying their time together with their buddies, especially at Mountain Lake. Rest in peace

There was never a time in my life that I didn't know Barney and his brother Tom who were next door neighbors to my Aunt Ellanora and Uncle Mike Emrick and like part of their family. He was always so friendly with a smile and lighthearted conversation when we visited. He was also a good friend to my Uncle Norman Kinney through the years. RIP Barney and thanks for your service to our country.
